When you are driving a car that your’e not familiar with and don’t know which side is the gas flap,
Instead of opening doors look for a small symbol on your dashboard that you may have overlooked a little arrow or triangle near the gas gauge, the arrow indicates which side of the car the gas tank is on.

Funny that u mention it - but 99% it’s correct.
I had one car believe it or not the arrow was on wrong side - just saying
