@SilverMoon Doesn’t seem to be working anymore…
Andy OS Android Emulator
-
Hi
Does anyone have experience with Andy OS as a Android emulator? It seems that a jew made this emulator as the admin is called Yossi…
I’ve installed it and seems to run fine, however I’m having trouble connecting the VM to the internet. The installation creates two virtual adapters, and I’m not sure which one of them is used…
Does anyone have experience with that? Thanks a mill!

@TechWiz I see that online there are quite a few posts about Andy OS being a Bitcoin mining trojan. Do you know anything about that?
-
I use Android Studio it gives you the most functionality’s and there is no worries about any viruses etc.
-
@Chocolate Any Dev knowledge required for Android Studio? I mean to install the VM’s?
-
No
The only issue is ypou need to first open Android Studio and then open the VM so it’s another 10 seconde otherwise it’s great, you get to choose the hardware, Android V soon you’ll be able to try out 11, you can emulate calls SMS and what not -
@Chocolate I tried out Android Studio’s emulator, but it wasn’t gr8 for video calling, nor was it handy for whatsapp… I totally get what you were saying that you have many options there, but I wasn’t very satisfied…
Instead I found some really cool alternative! Bluestacks recently released a Beta version of the Bluestacks 4 that uses the Windows hypervisor (which is used by HyperV) so it can run parallel to HyperV. Check out the instructions and the download link here.
It runs really smooth on my end! LMK how it goes! -
Does anyone have a clean virus free emulator?
thank you -
@CK-Design What are you going to use it for?
-
WhatsApp etc
-
@CK-Design If you’re going to use video calls and voice notes\calls I suggest you to use bluestacks. If it’s more for chatting, banking etc I’d suggest you the Android studio emulator…
-
@Hacker26 How much RAM does your machine have though?
-
8gb but is bluestacks safe?
-
i have heard it is a virus
-
@CK-Design People tend to say that emulators are a virus because of the high CPU and RAM usage. The Andy OS, wasn’t a virus either. It seems that there was a malware with the same name published… But Bluestacks is a solid emulator from a totally legit source. They also have a premium version where you pay some monthly fee and you get some upgrades… I use it and it performs really good, and CPU and RAM are also not that much occupied, especially as I’m running quite heavy applications on my laptop, like SQL Server, HyperV VMs and so on…
-
but doesn’t seem to have good reviews

@CK-Design Yeah, but did you actually read the reviews? Most of the people complain about performance issues… That is mostly a hardware problem! How do you expect to run a emulator on a HDD?! I don’t think that it is a virus. In fact I’ve seen quite a few viruses and I would have realised a malware behaviour… In any case, what AV are you using? If there is some crap there mostly they stop it unless you have some really old or bad AV…

i am using norton
-
@CK-Design And does it complaint about the installation package?
-
have not tried but nervous to try it
-
seems to be ok
