Sony RX100 VI - Lens protector gets stuck
-
The lens protector on my Sony RX100 VI occasionally gets slightly stuck while opening and i have to tap it to open it fully.
It seems some dirt may have gotten inside the mechanism.What can be done about this?

Proceed with caution

@DovidStroh I once had this issue with my G7X after using it at the beach and of course sand went in, I did like he’s doing in this video with a paper, and it helped.
-
@DavidG Thanx. it’s not the zoom mechanism but the lens protector… anything on that?
-
seems to be a known issue with this model

@DavidG yes this seems to be the issue.
My filter also blocks the comments. can you quote it? Thanx

“I had the same issue and this trick I read somewhere online seemed to have fixed it. Point the camera straight down into a vacuum hose (while the vacuum is on) and also turn camera on and off a few times. I suppose there is dirt in the shutter blades that can be sucked out this way.”
a few people claim that it helped them.

@DovidStroh any luck?

@TechWiz Unfortunately no luck. tried all of these ideas.
